There were some eye-popping performances in the Dodgers minor-league system the last couple weeks, and I got to see three of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes games in person, which was awesome. There are some guys below folks should keep eyes on this season, as they could establish themselves as legitimate prospects with solid performances in 2013. —– Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes ... ZiPS projects the 2013 Dodgers: Good but not great

MattKempInjured

The 2013 projection for the Dodgers from Dan Szymborski‘s ZiPS system was released last week, and given that it’s probably my favorite forecasting tool, it’s worth a look to see how the team fared. Forecasting is not a complete science, obviously, and I’ll address some of the potential pitfalls as we go along, but it’s better to use objective tools ... Read More »

PeterMoylanDress

The Dodgers have signed former Braves righty reliever Peter Moylan and former Nationals backstop Jesus Flores to minor-league deals with invitations to Spring Training. Flores has shown enough flashes that he could feasibly challenge for the backup job should Tim Federowicz falter, though he’s almost certainly going to spend the majority of the season in Albuquerque. Moylan figures to be minor-league ... Read More »
