Down On The Farm: Week Of August 26 – Urias, Stripling, Jacobs, Baldwin, Law, Arano

With the regular season ending for all affiliates aside from Ogden, Monday’s games are included in this week’s recap. Also of note is that the Dodgers have shut down Julio Urias, who hit his strict innings limit, even though Great Lakes made the playoffs. It’s a smart move, of course. —– Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (5-3) Player Of The Week – ... Read More »

Down On The Farm: Weeks Of July 29 & August 5 – Seager, Lee, Windle, Magill, Bird, Scavuzzo

The big news this week is the promotion of top prospect Corey Seager from Low-A Great Lakes to High-A Rancho Cucamonga. Seager absolutely killed Low-A pitching, hitting .309/.389/.529/.918 with a .410 wOBA and 153 wRC+. He did that as a 19-year-old. The sky’s the limit. —– Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (2-5 & 3-3) Player Of The Week – 7/29 Scott Van ... Read More »

Sorry, no Julio Urias this week, as the ridiculously young hurler didn’t go beyond two innings in either of his starts. The southpaw hasn’t exceeded two innings since early July. —– Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (1-3 & 4-3) Player Of The Week – 7/15 It was a short week for the Topes with the Triple-A All-Star Game eating into the week. ... Man, I’m never going two weeks between these posts again. Anyway, most of the Dodger minor-league affiliates were mediocre the last two weeks. The Ogden Raptors scored the most runs this week with 83, thanks to Jeremy Rathjen, Corey Seager and Eric Smith. They also gave up the most runs this week at 94. —– Albuquerque Isotopes (7-8) Runs Scored: 81 ... Read More »
