Down On The Farm: Week of September 2 – Everybody’s Done But The Raptors Edition

The Dodgers‘ minor-league teams have officially wrapped up, as the Ogden Raptors finished off their Pioneer League campaign. Ogden missed the postseason for the first time since 2007.

Ogden Raptors (2-5)

Player Of The Week – 9/2

Kyle Farmer – C/DH

.450/.476/.650/1.126, 5 RBI, 1 Run, 4 2B, 0 BB, 2 K

There were a couple of guys with higher rate stats, but Farmer gets the nod for playing a full week’s worth of games, whereas the other Raptors only got into a couple of games.

The 23-year-old backstop finishes off a very good debut campaign, but two important things to note are that he’s very, very old for the league and he’ll need to walk more as he begins to face more advanced competition.

Pitcher Of The Week – 9/2

Victor Araujo – RHP

6 IP, 0 Runs, 6 Hits, 8 K, 1 BB

Araujo was one of a small handful of Raptors’ pitchers to find success this week, and his start capped a strong campaign (3.41 FIP, 8.84 K/9, 2.36 BB/9). Araujo will turn 21 later this year.
