A lost couple of weeks due to actually seeing games in person.

Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (2-4 & 5-1)

Player Of The Week – 7/1

Alex Castellanos – OF

.350/.500/.700/1.200, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 1 2B, 4 R, 6 BB, 4 K

Castellanos is festering in Triple-A, but he’s also taking advantage of the Pacific Coast League‘s friendly environment. He should be recalled in September at the latest.

Player Of The Week – 7/8

Nick “Chili” Buss – OF

.435/.423/.739/1.162, 1 HR, 9 RBI, 2 2B, 1 3B, 5 R, 1 BB, 1 K

The Isotopes’ lone PCL All-Star representative, Buss had a good week and continues to be one of the most consistent hitters on the team.

Pitcher Of The Week – 7/1

Red Patterson – RHP

4 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K

Patterson was named the first-half MVP by Chris Jackson of the Albuquerque Examiner, and it was a surprising, but well-deserved distinction. He’s striking out more than a batter per inning (9.4 K/9) and is filling multiple roles for the Isotopes.

Pitcher Of The Week – 7/8

Kelvin De La Cruz – LHP

6 2/3 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Patterson made two appearances (one start, one relief appearance) and is proving to be a solid all-around pitcher for the Isotopes this season.
