Both are interesting reads, and I was considering doing one myself, but this off-season has been/will be a mess, so I’m not entirely sure how this will go down or how many spots are even available in reality. I mean, at this rate, some guys who get put on the 40-man might need to be designated or traded later anyway.
I’m not sure how many eligible minor-leaguers are actual threats to stick the whole season with an MLB club. Steven Ames and Tony Gwynn Jr. and … that’s about it?

Plaschke Thy Sweater Is Argyle: Greg Zakwin questions whether or not the Dodgers moves to this point have been primarily public relations based.
Nick Evans signed with the Dodgers. Anybody have any input on him? I don’t know what’s considered good as far as minor league stats go (especially with the Mets farm system) and his ML experience plus the injury seems to have left his more recent experience limited. Good for some 1B/3B MiL depth maybe?
Probably exactly that.
