Last time around, I noted that the Dodgers had signed 31 out of their 41 draft picks in 2012, including all 11 in the bonus pool. Since then, the signing deadline has passed, but not before two more players inked deals with the team: 16th round OF Josh Henderson and 20th round RHP Jharel Cotton.

That leaves the team with only eight players unsigned, which leaves this draft with the highest percentage of picks signed by the club since Ned Colletti took over in 2006.

I like the quote Dylan got from Kasten…
“You have to use all the tools”
…when referring to acquiring talented players. So far they’ve drafted some bats and been highly active in the Int. market. I’m curious to see what they do by the trade deadline, since it’s pretty obvious they’re gonna do something.

Just get a bad feeling that they’re going to force something.
It’s hard to argue against “You have to use all the tools,” or “You have to build from within,” or stuff like that. In other words, everything I’ve heard reported about the guy makes him out to be a giant storehouse of baseball cliches. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s sitting on his couch talking about grit and clutch hitting while texting reporters about pitching winning games.
Wouldn’t read too much into it. Seems like they’re all about appeasing fans and shit.
