I’ll have analysis up later, but in the mean time, here’s Shane Victorino’s best contributions to baseball!

He’s average. AbreVeraWynn was poop so i guess its an upgrade.
Agree…Left field has been poop this year. Now do the Dodgers have the guts to drop Abreu or Rivera or both?….keep good defensive bench with Loney(emergency pitcher), Hairston, Gwynn
Probably Uribe, actually.
iirI think Abreu & Rivera are OK bench guys. Lets pray that Loney does his Lou Gehrig impersonation again.
The other good thing about getting Vic is that Donnie won’t be tempted to bat Dee leadoff when he comes back.
1. Vic
2. M Ellis
3. Kemp
4. Ethier
5. Hanley The Manly
6. LoneVera
7. AJ
8. Cruz /Sellers/ Dee (when he heals)
9. P
Abreu and Rivera are both guys who turned a slag heap audition into snowing Ned Colletti for major money. In a vacuum, they’re not bad guys to have on the bench but there is a reason why they were both claimed off the waiver wires.
This.
They were replacement level, nothing more.
iirc*
sorry (fuck my typing)
So the Dodgers give up a top 3(?), top 5(?) prospect and a pretty decent prospect/major league reliever for a guy they lost TWICE on Rule 5 Draft?
God, would somebody please run Ned Colletti over tonight.
What does Victorino’s Rule 5 history have anything to do with the evaluation of the trade? If you think we gave up too much for a small upgrade, that’s fine, but it’s just weird to describe Victorino, who’s been one of the best OFs in the league in recent years, as “a guy they lost TWICE on Rule 5 Draft.”
Top 7, probably.
Maybe 9.
I had to come out of lurker mode and create an account just to ask: Do you have an animated gif of the first photo in this post, when Victorino got all spastic after Kuroda threw at his head during the 2008 playoffs? This was when he officially made me sick.
I do not. Believe I lost it.
Blessing that we didn’t get Dempster, who knows what ELSE Ned would have gave up…
They wanted either Lee, Webster, De Le Rosa, or Reed, so yeah.
